- Hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2.5 GPA from DOE accredited university
- Pass criminal history background check
- Enrolled and started modules in an Alternative Certification Program

There are many options to choose from, but most importantly take time to explore and find the one that fits your learning style best. Here are a few of the programs we often see candidates enroll in:

- Visit the Dayton ISD employment page
- Complete the Dayton ISD teacher application
- Browse current vacancies and apply for teacher positions of interest

School Year 1 (while teaching as an full time)
- Enrollment in an ACP program by hire date
- Create a TEAL account if needed
- Completion of all ACP course modules/hours
- Completion of Field Observation hours
- Completion of any program pre-tests (if required)
- Pass Content Exams
- Obtain Statement of Eligibility
**Once these requirements are met submit SOE to HR and apply for SBEC intern certificate
School Year 2
- Teach a full year on intern certificate
- Pass PPR Test
- At conclusion of the year, receive recommendation from ACP to apply for Standard Certification
