Additional Information for Non-professional Employment
The 80th Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 9 which requires both the Texas Education Agency and employing school districts to review national criminal history records of all non-certified employees hired on or after January 1, 2008.
A non-certified employee must be fingerprinted before being hired unless the applicant is already in the DPS clearinghouse used the by the Texas Education Agency.
The school district will submit required data to the Texas Education Agency. The authorization form (FASTPass) will be sent electronically directly to Personnel Services.
The applicant must schedule an appointment with the DPS digital fingerprint vendor, L-1 Identity Solutions. A list of locations where applicants may be fingerprinted will be provided.
The fee for fingerprinting is approximately $50 which must be paid at the time the appointment with L-1 is scheduled. The fee for fingerprinting must be paid with a credit card or one-time debit card that can be purchased from any bank.
