IMPORTANT UPDATES REGARDING STATE TESTING:
1. All STAAR tests have been canceled in response to the Corona Virus (COVID-19). This includes all EOC tests as well.
SENIORS – All seniors will qualify for the Individual Graduation Committee (IGC) process, regardless of how many EOCs they need to pass IF they have/earn credit for the EOC courses where tests are needed. DHS will be communicating with seniors needing an IGC to tell them what needs to be completed so they can graduate.
9th-11th grade (+ 8th grade Algebra I students): If you are currently enrolled in AND earn credit for an EOC course by the end of the spring semester 2020, you will NOT have to take the EOCs for those courses, unless you had previously taken and failed the test(S) – then you must continue to re-test.
FORMER DHS STUDENTS (MARCH 26, 2020 UPDATE): If you have your credits but did not pass all of your EOC tests and did not previously qualify for an IGC, see below (copied from TEA guidance published March 26, 2020)
**The student will need to complete the IGC process for each of the remaining EOC assessments not passed (regardless of the number), and the district will need to determine if the former student has met all other graduation requirements under TEC, §28.025(c).
**Please email your HS counselor if you feel you qualify for this new path to receiving your diploma.
