Summer School – 2008
Grades 9 – 12
Registration:
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3rd in the Dayton High School Commons. A
minimum of 10 students must be registered for the class to be taught.
School Commons. Registration will be for both semesters. A minimum of 10
students must be registered for the class to be taught.
Schedule:
First Semester: June 4th - June 26th.
Classes will meet Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- 4:00 p.m. Class time subject to change depending on enrollment.
Students may sign up only for those designated subjects. Summer school is for remediation only. Students must have already
completed the 160 hours of classroom instruction. This summer school is only for Dayton ISD students.
Fees:
Tuition for each session will be $100.00, and must be payable in cash or
money order on the day of registration.
Transportation:
Transportation will be provided from
strategic points throughout the District. Summer School transportation maps will
be available upon registration for summer school. Buses will not be available
for afternoon classes.
Courses Offered:
English I, Algebra I, World Geography, and I.P.C. These classes will be
filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry, Social Studies and Science will be offered
with a limited number of spaces. These classes will be filled on a first come,
first serve basis.

Student Rules and Expectations
Students will be expected to present on each day. Excuses for absences must be in writing. A TOTAL OF THREE ABSENCES IN A SEMESTER WILL RESULT IN FAILURE AND THE STUDENT WILL BE DROPPED FROM CURRENT SESSIONS. Three tardies will count as one absence.
Summer school is a
concentrated period of time. It is important for the student to arrive on
time and to be committed
to the routine necessary for success.
A student will be dropped for any of the following reasons:
Possession or use of alcohol/drugs.
Poor behavior in class, building, or campus.
Remaining in cars in parking lot.
Vandalism of any kind.
Reckless driving.
False information on registration form.
Failure to follow instruction.
Possession or use of
tobacco.
Students must remain in the area assigned for summer school.
Students must abide by the
Dayton High School Dress Code.
Students will leave campus
immediately after class is dismissed each day.
