Effective September 1, 1999, Standard Certificates must be renewed every five years to remain valid. The renewal cycle is every five years at the end of the educator's birth month. Remember that teachers must complete 150 clock hours of continuing education every five years, counselors 200 clock hours, and master teachers 200 clock hours for example, as part of the renewal process. The Curriculum and Instruction Office is offering several opportunities in April and May to obtain these CPE hours. It is your responsibility to attend classes for CPE hours and maintain copies of certificates of attendance as proof for the 150 hours. Click here for the list of staff development opportunities. Contact Dorrie at the C&I Office to sign up. Everyone is welcome.
