The Texas 80th Legislature passed Senate Bill 9, which requires both
the Texas Education Agency and employing school districts to review
a national criminal history record of all non-certified employees
hired on or after January 1, 2008.
A non-certified employee must be fingerprinted before hired unless
the applicant is already in the DPS clearinghouse used by the Texas
Education Agency.
The school district will submit required data to the Texas Education
Agency who will electronically send the school an authorization
form (FASTPass) for the applicant.
The applicant will then go online to schedule an appointment with
the DPS digital fingerprint vendor, L-1 Identity Solutions. A list
of locations will be provided. www.iisfingerprint.com
The fee for fingerprinting is $52.20, which will be paid when you
schedule your appointment with L-1. The fee must be paid with a
credit card or one-time debit card that can be purchased from any
bank.
